please fix 'divide room'

this feature is completely broken.

  • when dividing a room, why can you select multiple rooms?
  • sometimes when moving the dividing line it says "place line inside the room to be divided" when there are clearly parts of the room on either side of the line.
  • sometimes when clicking the tick mark when dividing a room it says "Reset failed"


why don't you just allow us to draw a rectangle and assign the enclosed are to a particular room, instead of all this line-drawing nonsense?

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.

  • The process of dividing a room using lines allows for more flexibility and precision in defining the boundaries of the different rooms.     Regarding the error message "Place line inside the room to be divided", it could be caused by drawing the dividing line outside of the room's boundaries, or by trying to divide a room into an area that is too small.


    As for "Reset failed" message, it may be caused by an issue with the software or a conflict with the device you are using.


    As for your last question, some software or apps allows you to draw a rectangle to assign a particular room, others may not have this option. It depends on the program or app you are using, but you can check if this feature is available in the settings or preferences of the program.

    What do you mean select multiple rooms?


    Could you send us a picture of the "reset failed" error message? Also, you can send us a picture of the current map and mark the layout you want on the map.


    Also, clear the cache on the app, switch to cellular data to have a try.

    1. click 'Edit map' button on main scree
    2. click the 'Edit Room' button in the slide-up menu
    3. click the 'Divide' button on the bottom of the screen. it says "Select a room to divide"
    4. tap on a room: the room gets a checkmark and the 'draw a line' bar appears for that room.
    5. now tap on another room. ANOTHER checkmark appears. each room you click on gets its own checkmark,

    why does it allow multiple rooms to be checked? it doesn't make sense.

    "Reset failed"


    here's the map: notice how the top-right room has blue pixels from the bottom-right room in it. this causes the robot to navigate to the red rom when it's only supposed to clean the blue room. so, i want to divide the blue room here, and then merge the top few pixels into the red room:


    but, when i click 'ok', it just puts up an error:


    clearing cache doesn't help, it's not a network issue.

    Hi, thanks for your reply. It seems that the divide room line is placed on the white room which has walls all around it. That may be the cause for the failure.

    In your case, maybe you can set a no go zone on the blue pixels to stop the robot from wanting to get inside the blue pixels.

    why does it have to be so difficult? why can't you just divide the room in two based on the line that i draw, instead of showing useless errors?


    seriously, do you actually have anyone working on the software for this any more. you guys should just open-source the software if you can't be bothered to test or fix it properly so people who are can fix it so it isn't broken.

  • So happy to find I'm not the only one struggling.

    My problem is the dotted line is the same color as the room I want to divide, so I will never see when it changes from dotted to solid. How do I solve this?

  • Same problems here. The Max Ultra does an amazing job of cleaning, but the software is a disaster. Also why isn't there a PC version of the software?

    Currently the PC version of app is not available. It's only avaialble on smartphones or tablets like ipad.
