Wifi connection issues

Wifi connection issues

I recently had my 2.4 GHz network turned off because it was causing interference with Bluetooth. However, I forgot that Roborock was using the 2.4 GHz network, so I turned it back on. Big problems now.

After booting it up, I waited a few minutes and tried to access my Roborock. The app couldn't find it, said the network was slow.

I tried resetting Wifi connection and It would fail on the step "Transferring information to device ..." (step 2).

So I completely reset Roborock, uninstalled the App and started new. Now it fails on the third step "Device is connecting to the network". I've tried both of my 2.4 Ghz networks and both have the same result.

Finally I gave up on the app and just pressed the button on the Roborock so it would start cleaning. Since I had reset it, I figured it would wander around and remap, but it actually positioned and cleaned with the previously known maps. So I'm not sure resetting is actually doing anything? It certainly didn't clear the maps.

  • Hello,

What is the model number of your robot?

    Which app do you use?

Try to connect it to the mobile hotspot and verify whether it works.

Sorry for the delay I am just getting back to this. I tried today again and it failed.

I have an S5 Max and I use the Android app.

I don't know what you mean by connecting to the mobile hotspot. Mobile hotspot has nothing to do with this.

When I reset Wifi and try to add the vacuum to the app, My phone successfully connects to the vacuum and successfully transfers settings to the vacuum. But the vacuum is unable to connect to the Wireless network. It is a 2.4 GHz network and the password is correct.

    Hello,

It is just a troubleshooting method to connect the S5 Max to mobile hotspot.

Also, you can switch to Roborock app if you use Mi home app, vice versa.

    Ok some more data.

I changed the network name and I was able to connect. So apparently Roborock does not like to reconnect to a network name that it previously connected to.

So I tried a test - I connected the network and then connected the vacuum. Then I turned the network off for 24 hours, but never ran the vacuum. Then I turned the network on and tried to run the vacuum. The App could not find the vacuum. I tried reconnecting the vacuum to the same network and it failed to connect. I changed the name of the network and roborock was able to connect.

    Is this expected behavior?
