My S5 cannot get over a bump that leads into the kitchen. It’s on the same floor, but sees the bump as a wall (although the mapping shows its open space into the kitchen).

Whats the best way to clean the kitchen without it discarding the map of the rest of my home? Just place it in there and hit Clean?

Could you tell us approximate height of the bump?You could try to set a ramp to help robot get over. If it is too high for robot to climb over, we are afraid you need to move robot there manually.
