Hi.
I just purchased an S5 MAX Robot vacuum and everything is working fine execpt for one thing. I am not able to add the vacuum to Google Home assistant.
The "mi home" is added just fine to Google Home and my other Xiaomi devices in the mi home app are also added and works through Google, just not the S5 MAX vacuum. It is as if the vacuum is not registered with my account or something.
Can anyone help please?
Kind regards.
Doesnt work for anyone atm. You can use the roborock app instead of the Mi Home one. That one does work with Google Home. However, it has other things that do not work or are not yet implemented (sharing of vacuum with other family members, running on older versions of android, Home Assistant integration, naming of rooms, running the app in split screen or rotating, which may be an issue on a home automation tablet, ...).
Its annoying but so far there isnt one app that does all I need. But maybe the roborock app does what you need.
Hi Vertigo.
Thank you for your reply. Also missing from the Roborock app is the virtual remote feature, which can be quite convenient at times. Please, do you know if your answer is official? I contacted support and they seem to say that it is supposed to work fine and they sent me an installation guide to follow. Why would they do that, if it is not possible to make it work?
Regards.
I dont speak for Xiaomi, but have a look yourself:
Mi Home | Google Assistant
https://assistant.google.com/services/a/uid/00000059b6df25e0?hl=en-USscroll down to the reviews. Its not working for anyone. Not anymore. Feel free to point their support there, but its kinda hard to imagine they wouldnt be aware.
The virtual remote is in the roborock somewhere as far I remember. Its in a different spot, but I think its there. Cant check since I switched back to Mi Home because I need some of its features.
Thank you for the link. I see now.
I thought that was related to the security issues Xiaomi had with their cameras: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-temporarily-kills-xiaomi-mi-home-integration-security-camera-bug/
Since 16th of january those issues were fixed (see Update 3), but obviously not completely fixed yet although they say it is.
Anyway I now use mi home app, more pros than cons to the Roborock app. So no voice assistant for me either.
Hi, we are sorry that for S5 max, only roborock app supports google home integration yet. please check attached file how you could link our device to google home. The service you need to search for is called Robo rock (a space in middle)
Note:
1. Make sure your robot is added and online on app Roborock(not Mi Home app) first.
2. The roborock vacuum cleaner could be commanded by google home to start, pause, continue cleaning and return to dock, find robot only.
Thank you very much. The first official answer yet, that confirms it. I appreciate it very much.
It stopped working yesterday , I am using same procedure/file but its is not linking correctly.
It says “Account linked” then says “Something went wrong. Try again”
Could you try to link your app account to Google Home one more time to check if the issue is resolved?
