Have lost the ability to create rooms - any ideas?

I've had the roborock s5 max for about 2 weeks and loved it. I had mapped the main floor and successfully created rooms, no mop zones, and invisible walls. My son used the vacuum on the upper floor of the house without creating a new map. This created problems on the main floor, so I deleted the map and remapped the main floor. Now when I go to 'the edit room' function to create a room I get the message that the map is updating followed by 'reset failed'. I have restarted my phone in case that is the problem - that hasn't made any difference. Any ideas? I have contacted support via email but after sending in details like my serial number and receipt I've not heard back. Thanks!
