Creating different maps with the S50

Creating different maps with the S50

We have recently adquired the Roborock S50. In our house, we have a dog's barrier separating two different zones (so the robot cannot navigate through both, we need to move it over the barrier). To solve this problem we want to create two maps, as if we had two different floors or houses, one for each zone of the house. But the feature is not working as expected for us. We have updated the firmware to the last version and have activated the map saving mode (beta). First, we have put the Roborock to map the first zone, putting its dock inside this zone and letting it do its clean up to the end. We verified that this map appeared as a backup map (as well as the current map at this moment). We did this twice to have an optimized map (which appeared both as current and as backup, i.e., the optimization appeared in the backup map as expected). Then we erased the current map (but not the backup map), put the Roborock with its dock in the second zone of the house, and do a new cleaning up to the end in this zone. When it ended, it had created a new current map, but also had UPDATED the backup map with the new one, instead of creating a new backup map and respecting the old one (so in the end we had one current map and one backup map, instead of two backup maps as expected). What are we doing wrong? What can we do to get our two desired maps? Thank you for your help!

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.

  • Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Sorry to tell you that the S5 does not support multi-floor maps feature, which means that you cannot create two maps for different floors/zones.

    And I'm afraid that there is no other workaround now, you can keep an eye on app for the firmware updates.

    @RR_Support:

    Thank you for the answer. But this is not the S5, it is the S50. Is it no different?

    @JoseBrox:

    Hi, there is no difference.

    S50 means it is the S5, white one.
