Imaginary obstacles causes non straight lines, positioning also breaks

Hello,

I have a roborock S5 Max. It has been working great until recently.

First problem was that when I selected a room to clean, it went to a different room. At that moment the dock on the map was shown somewhere it actually wasn't. I took care of this problem remapping.

After this another problem started, while remapping and cleaning it doesn't go on straight lines anymore. It acts like it sees some imaginary obstacles. It will stop and turn around itself, it will slow down for no reason, and will get stuck at places even though there is no reason. Remapping didn't solve this problem.

Firmware version: 02.15.30

  • It’s a problem that is affecting all our S5 Max. There are 3-4 treads in the forum with a lot of users. I hope the Staff gives us a real solution as soon as possible. Our Roborock are useless in this way.

  • I wrote to email support. They asked me Serial Number, Receipt of purchase, video of a session and other informations. I spent all the afternoon to prepare to them all these infos, charging video on Drive and send them.

Their answer? “The problem is your device, contact the seller for guarantee”.

Only in this forum there are 4-5 people with the same problem and the same device. It’s so clear that the problem is the software… but they only told me “it’s a your device problem”.

This is my last Roborock. Worst assistence ever.

  • Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to Customer Support and we are sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with your device.

    1. If water tank is installed, please remove it to test if the error will still appear.
    2. Please check if there's anything stuck in the front wheel according to the video below:

    @RR_Support:

As I told to email support:

Without Water Tank (so only in no-washing mode), the problem doesn't appear.

Wheels are clean, free and with no problems.

Washing mode, in 4 of 6 rooms of my house (with the same flat of the other two) is PERFECT. Only in two rooms, there is the problem.

Maybe the problem are sensors, but for me and for a lot of user (as you can read in this forum) problem started after a firmware update. Please, consider this!.
